“The green economy presents a generational investment opportunity,” says Jaakko Kooroshy, global head of sustainable investment research at LSEG. He tells The Edge Singapore that returns from the FTSE EOAS index have outpaced every sector bar technology over the past decade.
Green equities delivered a compound annual growth rate of 18% between 2015 and 2025, compared with 12% for the global equities index, notes the Investing in the Green Economy 2026 report by London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG).
The data was drawn from the FTSE Environmental Opportunities All Share (EOAS) index, a basket of equities with more than 20% green revenues, which provides a proxy for the performance of the green economy, while the FTSE Global Equity All Cap is the reference for global equities.
