UMS Holdings has reported 2QFY2021 earnings of $16.9 million, up 46% y-o-y. Revenue in the same period hit $66.8 million, up 66% y-o-y, thanks to sustained growth in the semiconductors industry, which the company services.
On top of an interim dividend of one cent, UMS plans to issue one bonus share for each four existing shares – its third bonus share issue since June 2014.
UMS chairman and CEO Andy Luong notes that the company is enjoying a ride on the boom in semiconductors industry.
According to SEMI, global sales of semiconductor manufacturing equipment are forecasted to surpass US$100 billion next year, a new high, after jumping 34% to US$95.3 billion in 2021.
UMS shares closed Aug 13 at $1.75, down 0.57% for the day and up 52.17% year to date.
