New York-listed hospitality giant Hilton will add more than 2,000 new rooms under the Hilton Garden Inn brand across China, with hotels in Beijing, Guangzhou and Chengdu slated to open this year.

The signings, secured with multiple owners at the Hilton Garden Inn Investment Summit in China, follow the 2024 launch of the Hilton Garden Inn · Gen A “prototype”, developed specifically for the China market.

According to Hilton, the brand will further its “core cities and leisure destinations” growth strategy, expanding its footprint across transportation hubs and central business districts in China’s Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities alongside emerging travel destinations.

New signings span “high-growth regions” including the Greater Bay Area, the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and other high-growth, tourism-focused markets, says Hilton.

These leisure destinations include the brand’s foray into Lushan Scenic Area and Mingyue Mountain in Yichun, northern China. Opening in 2027, the 119-room garden-style Hilton Garden Inn Lushan Scenic Area is adjacent to Lulin Lake, offering panoramic sunset views and a scenic base for families and leisure travelers.
