New York-based data infrastructure company VAST Data launches its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore today, four months after the announcement of its Series E funding round of US$118 million ($157.19 million).

Founded in 2016, the company offers a data computing platform that allows its customers to train AI models by storing and synthesising large amounts of unstructured data, which refers to data such as images and videos. 

The company’s latest round of fundraise brings its total fundraising amount to US$380 million, and its valuation tripled to US$9.1 billion. Fidelity Ventures led its latest round of funding, with participation from Nvidia, Goldman Sachs and Tiger Global and others.
