SGTech has launched a structured yet flexible programme to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) move from AI curiosity to measurable business impact.
Called the AI-Ready Enterprise Initiative, it takes SMEs through three stages: Foundation builds basic awareness, Engage embeds AI into workflows, and Operational supports pilots and early deployment.
The programme provides hands-on workshops, expert clinics and workflow-mapping guidance tailored to individual roles and business needs.
"The challenge today is not whether AI matters, but how enterprises, especially SMEs, can adopt it meaningfully and responsibly. The AI-Ready Enterprise Initiative focuses on what businesses need most: trusted guidance, practical use cases and hands-on support,” says Nicholas Lee, SGTech's chair.
Alibaba Cloud, Amazon Web Services and Singtel Stack-EZ are founding partners, providing access to AI platforms, tools and expertise across the three stages.
The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and the Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SMCCI) have joined as pioneer strategic partners to extend the programme's reach to their respective memberships.

"We aim to help our members understand real-world use cases, access structured learning pathways, and build the confidence to integrate AI into their day-to-day operations," says Kok Ping Soon, SBF's chief executive. Similarly, Abdul Malik Hassan, SMCCI's president, states that the chamber would serve as "a bridge to help Malay/Muslim SMEs move from interest to action in AI adoption."
The initiative builds on an earlier SGTech programme delivered with the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and backed by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), which has engaged close to 220 companies and more than 530 individuals to date.
Besides that, SGTech, SUTD and SSG also released a guide titled "Designing a Human-AI Innovation Edge for Enterprises: Strategy Use Cases," drawing on real-world cases from companies that have undergone structured AI integration.

Poon King Wang, SUTD's chief strategy and design AI officer, who led its development, says the aim was to move the conversation "beyond technology alone" and towards how organisations can design human-AI collaboration as a source of competitive advantage.
What such adoption can deliver in practice was illustrated by Arthur Ong, director of Teck Wei Credit, who says his firm saw roughly a 50% improvement in contact rates, arrears recovery, cash inflow and productivity after deploying Singtel Stack-EZ's AI Talkbot solution last year — all without expanding headcount. “My advice to SMEs: Start small, start today," he says.
