Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the new buzzword dominating boardrooms and hirers across Singapore, and it’s no surprise why. According to a Capgemini Global Institute report, AI is the top technology investment area in 2025 for 67% of businesses in Singapore. A LinkedIn report also identified that AI roles rank among the fastest-growing jobs in Singapore. However, as companies scramble to hire AI talent and integrate AI into their operations, they should be careful not to prioritise speed over strategy.

The hidden costs of hiring too quickly

According to Jobstreet by SEEK’s Hiring, Compensation and Benefits 2025 report, 42% of employers plan to expand their permanent headcount in the first half of 2025 and over half (54%) of businesses say AI skills are a key consideration during hiring.
