By chance you browse to this design studio, Insight.Out, please take a moment to shortlist them especially their lead designer, Roy Zhuang. Design and Quality is a subjective perspective. If you had chosen him as your designer, trust him and your renovation journey will be smoother and after sales service is impeccable. As a seasoned homeowner, we gone through renovation work and had high expectations. Roy worked with a Dream Team, from tiling (Ah Xian) with master workmanship that you cannot easily found this days to carpentry (Mr Wong and team) to assure you your build-in carpentry is measured to your specifications and most importantly the prompt after sales support if needed. Thanks Roy and team on making the renovation experience a sweet one.

Slid into insight.out’s DM and was assigned with Edmund. The whole process was smooth as we shared our preferences and colour tones. When we met the second time, Edmund’s suggestions and mood board were spot on. He captured everything nicely and we signed off shortly after. Prior to starting, a timeline was done up and we had already done all the shopping, making the renovation a breeze. Would definitely recommend Edmund. Five stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We finished our reno last year and it took us a while to write this review as we wanted to live in and experience our day to day living first. We are very thankful towards our ID as months after living, we could still connect easily to do touch ups and follow ups! Our interior designer is Edmund from Insight.Out. Edmund was a great partner to work with. From the get go, he was very open to our thoughts and ideas. He gave many suggestions to enhance the ideas too. Our unit is a 39 y/o resale flat and we needed a major renovation. One of our major concerns was the master bedroom toilet. It was too small and we had a hard time deciding how and what to extend out. We approached a few IDs and Edmund was the one who helped to give the great idea of extending out the toilet and to round the walls of the master toilet. This also helped to save space in the master bedroom. We loved his problem solving skill! Overall the whole Reno process was very enjoyable and Edmund is such an easygoing and chill person to work with. He has great design sense too! Would recommend people to engage Edmund in their Reno journey too(:

We started the journey last year, in 2022. Met up with about 5 to 6 IDs before we decided to go ahead with Insight.Out. Yuyu has been with us since the start(we first met her over Zoom and she presented her ideas to us) and upon completion of our home reno process, it will be nearly a year-long relationship. Now that we have moved into our home and stayed in it for a fortnight, we are definitely enjoying everything. The renovation result is exactly what we had envisioned or if not more. Our minimalist, wabisabi look really suited our liking. Yuyu has been fantastic and patient in listening to our needs and wants. She is also upfront with what we should or should not do. Of course, as first-time home owners, we wanted everything for the house but she is always advising us accordingly to ensure that we did not make the wrong move. Knowing that we tend to change our mind pretty easily and sometimes be too fussy over certain things like colors, Yuyu will still allow us some leeway to make those changes. For example, when we first chose the door color for our bedroom door, we decided on 'Love' based on the color palette. However, upon the first coat on the door frame, we realised that it makes our door looks more bright pink than the original idea of a muted mauve door. We quickly messaged her and she gave us some alternative colors that are more subtle and suited to our 'simple' house look. Yuyu assisted us to purchase home lights from Taobao, knowing that we are both not that 'proficient' in online purchases. Due to our busy work schedule, she not only got our home lights, Yuyu even got our black LeGrand switches on our behalf. She arranged for all the different vendors to come into the house to install all our appliances. She liaised us with our windows, blinds, 3M films and digital locks vendors at our convenience. Since we are always busy during weekdays, Yuyu often had to 'sacrifice' her weekends and PH for us. She is very prompt in answering our queries and in allaying our fears. She brought us to Hafary for tiles and to a lighting shop in Geylang to have an idea of the price range for the products that we wanted. She will also allow us to make comparisons first before getting us to decide on things. I must say that even when we started the choosing of ID process last year, our home renovation only started in late Feb this year. The contract that we signed was based on a 7% GST but since the work only started this year, it should have been charged at 8% GST but Insight. Out has been very understanding and kind to us. They just held us to the amount that was signed last year. We started with the budget of 50K for this 4rm flat of ours but it increased to about 58K during the signing of contract. Our final amount is about 75K due to certain major changes in our design that we needed to make. Though that might seem like a big jump to others, we were prepared for it because we knew that our 'old' flat will definitely need a lot of major uphauling to make the foundation stable and safe for us to stay in. With the progressive payments in place, we were able to spread out our renovation budget so as to not feel the pinch too much. We are both happy to have chosen Yuyu as our ID. She gave us the confidence to just leave the reno process to her as we are constantly updated in any changes in schedule for anything. I think we can count on our fingers how many times we went to the house during reno. She is a huge part of why our home is perfect for us and we will definitely go to her again for any future renos, if any. Not to mention, we will also recommend Insight.Out and Yuyu to any friends or family members that come to us for recommendations on IDs.

If you want tasteful design, professionalism and great project management, Insight.Out is the firm for you. We worked with Roy prior to his starting Insight.Out, and we loved his professionalism, pragmatism and keen eye, so it was only natural that when we needed a renovation again, Roy would be the first person we would speak to. But we did not engage him again. Instead, we were directed to Vivian, who bravely took on the challenge of deciphering the varied and sometimes vague requests from two rather passive and indecisive clients. It is worth noting that we had by this point also spoken to 5 other designers, who, for one reason or another, didn't inspire confidence in quite the same way that Vivian did. Anyway, we trusted her to navigate the confusing web of our piecemeal ideas that ranged from wacky to utterly impractical, and navigate she did. She expertly steered us to clarity, right from her initial proposal all the way down to the final delivery, until we found ourselves presently settling in to a gorgeously designed new home that earns us endless compliments from guests, family and friends.
