Malaysia had to appoint Singapore solicitors to file the action as Malaysian lawyers are not allowed to appear in Singapore courts.
SINGAPORE (July 18): Malaysia’s government has appointed Tan Rajah & Cheah, a Singapore law firm, as its solicitors to institute legal action against 53 individuals and companies to claim back the monies allegedly siphoned from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Bernama cited a source saying that Malaysia’s Attorney-General Tommy Thomas has already given his approval on the law firm earlier this week.
