French asset manager Amundi is broadening its offerings to retail investors here in Singapore with the launch of three flagship funds that hold either 4-star or 5-star Morningstar ratings. Two of these three funds are ESG-focused too.

Vincent Mortier, deputy chief investment officer and Asia ex-Japan supervisor at Amundi, believes that the path to recovery in 2021 will be an uneven one, with the virus cycle dictating the sequence.

“Against this backdrop of low rates, low growth and low inflation, the flagship offering can provide investors exposure to opportunities for diversification, quality value and post-Covid ESG themes. It will be a multi-year process to get the world back in order, which makes it all the more important that investors consider core strategic building blocks to build a long-term resilient portfolio,” says Mortier.

Eric Bramoullé, Amundi’s CEO of South Asia calls the introduction of these flagship funds demonstrates the asset manager’s ‘best-of-breed’ approach in providing carefully chosen offerings to meet the evolving needs of Singapore investors.

“By bringing in these impactful investment solutions, Amundi shows our commitment to provide investors access to growth and sustainable investment opportunities to address the needs of tomorrow,” he adds.

Beyond offering differentiation with a proven track record, two of the flagship funds actively integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations in the portfolio evaluation process, to address growing sustainability challenges and meet investors’ ESG investment goals.

The first fund is the Amundi Funds Pioneer US Bond, which is a multi-sector fixed income fund that invests mainly in a wide range of USD-denominated investment grade bonds. This fund aims to achieve competitive returns without excessive additional volatility.

The second fund is the Amundi Funds Polen Capital Global Growth, which is a global equity fund with a high-conviction portfolio that holds shares of certain high-quality companies. They include the world’s leading businesses with sustainable competitive advantages and the potential to deliver above-average earnings and long-term free cash flow growth over the long term.

Last but not least is the KBI Global Sustainable Infrastructure Fund, which focuses on high quality and sustainable infrastructure companies. The fund aims to deliver strong investment returns with diverse exposure to water and clean energy infrastructure, food storage and transportation and farmland. KGI Global Investors has been part of the Amundi Group since 2016.
