In 2021, CapitaLand split its development and funds management business into CapitaLand Development (CLD) and CLI. The development business is unlisted, while the listed entity primarily focuses on fund management and investment.
Paul Tham, CapitaLand Investment’s (CLI) group chief financial officer, is responsible for managing group finance, treasury, tax, and investor relations. He also oversees private credit and special opportunities businesses. This is the first of a two-part series from a wide-ranging interview Tham had with The Edge Singapore.
In the interview, Tham describes how he and his team are building CLI’s private credit business, which forms a portion of the group’s funds under management (FUM) as its FUM edges towards the 2028 target of $200 billion.
