Global financial app, Revolut, announced that it will be donating part of its proceeds from its personalised cards to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and Save Our Street Dogs Singapore (SOSD) on Sept 14.
The SPCA and SOSD will be onboarded to Revolut Singapore’s in-app donations platform, where the app’s customers can donate to their favourite charities and non-profit organisations easily.
The role of animal welfare organisations like SPCA and SOSD has become increasingly important to promote education, rehabilitate and find a new home for these animals, notes Revolut in its Sept 14 release.
To encourage its customers to support both charities, Revolut Singapore is now enabling its customers to personalise their cards. Previously available only to Revolut’s paid customers, the platform’s standard customers can personalise their cards with text messages, emojis and freehand sketches from now until Nov 4. The cards will cost $9.99 each, of which $2 will go directly to the charity partners (SPCA and SOSD will receive $1 each).
Additional card charges may apply if users have exceeded one or more physical cards.
“We are thrilled to partner with SPCA and SOSD to support the vital work they are doing. At Revolut, we are always looking for ways to make a positive impact on society and this partnership allows us to do just that. By ordering their very own personalised card, customers can play an important role in supporting these charities. They can also make additional donations through our in-app donations platform, enabling them to give back to the community and support causes they care about in a simple and effective way,” says Ashley Thomas, head of strategy and operations at Revolut Singapore
"The SPCA is very grateful for partners like Revolut who share our commitment to animal welfare. Companies like Revolut exemplify the essence of social consciousness by ingeniously crafting pathways that not only align with their goals but also rally more individuals to champion impactful causes. Through their innovative approach, they bridge the gap between commerce and compassion, cultivating a community of individuals who are not only customers but also compassionate advocates,” says Aarthi Sankar, executive director at SPCA.
“SOSD is delighted to announce our collaboration with Revolut. All proceeds from the donations will be dedicated to SOSD, ensuring that it benefits the dogs in need. We are grateful for this collaboration and the chance to improve the lives of our street dogs,” says Magdalene Eng, head of outreach and fundraising at SOSD.
