Mainboard-listed Hanwell Holdings will revert to its former name, PSC Corporation, from May 5.
The company was formerly known as PSC Corporation from 2003 to 2012.
When it was established in 1974, the company was first known as Provisions Suppliers Corporation.
The name change was approved by shareholders who voted for the special resolution at the company’s extraordinary annual general meeting (EGM) on April 28.
The company has applied to the SGX-ST to change the name of its trading counter to PSC Corporation under the same code DM0. The change will take effect when markets open at 9am on May 5.
Hanwell Holdings is known for its household brands such as Royal Umbrella and Golden Peony rice, Golden Circle cooking oil and Beautex tissue paper.

On the name change, executive chairman Dr Sam Goi says, “We believe that the ‘PSC’ brand name has been deeply entrenched in the minds of our customers in Singapore and has generated positive goodwill over the years. We want to establish an even greater connection with our customer base, as we reach out to the younger generations of consumers in Singapore and in the region.”
Henry Chu, the group’s CEO adds, “Moving ahead, PSC will scale up, expand our market footprint and enlarge the mindshare of our brands amongst our customer bases. Through PSC, we will continue to harness our existing strengths such as our brands, network and operational capabilities to accelerate our growth in the years ahead.”
The company’s corporate website address has already been changed to www.psccorporation.com.
Shares in Hanwell Holdings closed flat at 40.5 cents on April 28.
