Boustead Singapore announced on August 24 that it has won a A$30 million ($29.5 million) from an Australian federal government department.
The contract, which is signed by its 88.2%-owned business unit, Esri Australia, involves a multi-year Enterprise Agreement that will see Esri Australia provide thousands of Australian government employees with access to state-of-the-art GIS technology.
The contract represents a renewal of an existing arrangement, which includes the provision of the Esri ArcGIS platform and after-sales software support services.
Esri Australia is the exclusive distributor of the world-leading Esri ArcGIS platform.
“While Esri Australia has worked with the Australian government agencies for more than thirty years, it has only been in the past half decade that applied spatial thinking has informed the highest levels of government,” says Brett Bundock, managing director of Esri Australia.
“The changing nature of the challenges facing today’s leaders has made the science of geography and spatial analysis a critical decision-making tool for the more entreprenurial governments throughout our region. This contract demonstrates a clear commitment to prioritising progressive spatial approaches to address both local and regional challenges,” he adds.
Boustead says the contract is expected to have a positive material impact on the profitability and earnings per share, in the current financial year ending March 31, 2021, but is not expected to have a material impact on net tangible asset value per share for FY2021.
Shares in Boustead closed 0.5 cents lower, or 0.7% down, at 71.5 cents on August 24.
