Water environment management company China Everbright Water today announced that it has secured the Dandong Waste Water Treatment Project Phase II on July 27.
The company entered into a concession agreement with the Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of Dandong City in Liaoning Province where it will invest, construct, and operate based on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) model for a concession period of 30 years.
The plant will have an aggregate designed daily waste water treatment capacity of some 200,000 cubic metres.
The stage 1 of the project, which will commence construction soon, has a designed daily waste water treatment capacity of 100,000 cubic metres, and commands an investment of some RMB265 million ($52.2 million).
China Everbright Water says the terms and conditions of the remaining stages of Dandong Project Phase II will be determined after the construction of Stage 1 has been completed, and when it commences operations.
Everbright Water currently invests in and holds a total of 26 water projects and undertakes one operation and management project, in Liaoning Province and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous with a total designed daily water treatment capacity of over one million cubic metres.

Shares in China Everbright closed 1 cent lower, or 4.3% down, at 22 cents on Monday.
