The option orders are to be exercised in two batches, two vessels each.
China-based shipbuilding group Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Holdings has entered into an agreement with SITC International Holdings for the building and delivery of six 2,600 TEU containerships and four options for identical vessels worth US$162 million ($214.9 million).
With the latest order wins, the group has secured a total of new orders for 49 vessels worth US$1.42 billion. The figure excludes the value of the option orders.
