The first shipment of Covid-19 vaccine produced by Moderna has been shipped to Singapore from Brussels, on a scheduled Singapore Airlines freighter service.

The shipment from Moderna comes around two months after the vaccine produced by Pfizer-BioNTech arrived here on Dec 21.

The ground handling was managed by SATS, which runs the SATS Coolport facility at the airport that can handle the storage and distribution of the vaccines.

“Besides today’s delivery of Singapore’s first shipment of Moderna Covid-19 vaccines, we have had the privilege of carrying shipments of Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccines to Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, as well as Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines to Indonesia, over the past two months,” says Chin Yau Seng, senior vice president, cargo, SIA.
