A coronavirus vaccine could be distributed widely to the public as early as October, President Donald Trump said on Wednesday, contradicting statements by some of his top health officials that ranged from the end of March to the end of 2021.

“What we’ve done with the streamlining” has “been incredible,” Trump said during a news conference.

The administration’s goal is to have 100 million vaccine doses available by Dec. 31, Vice President Mike Pence said in an interview on Fox News late Wednesday.
