The RECs will support Facebook’s operations in Singapore, including its first custom-built data centre in Asia.
Sunseap Group has signed a multi-year virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with Facebook for solar energy from Singapore’s largest offshore floating solar farm.
The energy from the five megawatt-peak (MWp) offshore floating photovoltaic system located in the Straits of Johor will be exported to the national grid. Under the VPPA, all renewable energy credits (RECs) from the project will be transferred to Facebook for a pre-agreed price.
