Palo Alto-based PsiQuantum is receiving investments, grants, and loans worth A$940 million from Australian authorities to build what it says will be the world's first utility-scale quantum computer in Brisbane.

The company, founded in 2015, aims to have the site operational by the end of 2027 under what it calls an "aggressive" plan.

PsiQuantum had previously raised funding from Temasek, Microsoft Corp, Blackrock and Australian VC BlackBird. The last reported round was back in July 2021 with US$450 million raised in a Series D round, valuing the company at US$3.15 billion then.
