A new Professional Conversion Programme has been launched for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Professionals and Executives in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry subsector.
The announcement comes on the back of the Manpower Ministry’s Jobs Situation Report, also released on August 26.

Singapore Manpower Minister Josephine Teo said this will benefit 300 individuals over the next one year, and will replace the former Attach and Train (AnT) programme for Biologic Manufacturing.
She said the PCP comes with an expanded scope, and will equip trainees with specialised skills so that they can take on better roles beyond biologics manufacturing.
To date, close to 400 mid-career job seekers have already successfully switched into the sector by tapping on Workforce Singapore's (WSG) PCPs. Teo said together with the PCP for Medical Technology Engineer and Assistant Engineer, an additional 450 mid-career job seekers can look forward to new careers in the sector over the next three years.
In light of this, she urged all job seekers to “stay open-minded and to leverage such opportunities to move into growth sectors for better career progression.”
More jobseekers benefit from career matching
Teo also highlighted that 30% more jobseekers, or 36,000 more, received basic career advisory or job search assistance through WSG and NTUC-e2i’s career matching services from January to July 2020, compared to the same period last year.
Among which, 22,700 received individualised career coaching. This is 20% more than the same period in 2019, and despite the constraints on physical travelling and face-to-face interactions during the Circuit Breaker.
She said together with other career conversion and reskilling programmes, and activities to address mismatches, WSG placed a total of about 19,000 jobseekers from January to June 2020, 15% more than the same period last year.
