Samudera Shipping Line announced that it had on Dec 23, 2022 entered into agreements for the acquisition of two new-build container vessels from an unrelated third party.
The aggregate acquisition price is approximately US$66 million ($88.9 million).
The new vessels, each with a capacity of 1,900 TEUs, are expected to be delivered in 4Q2024 and early-2025. A
This acquisition is not expected to have any material impact on the net tangible assets and earnings per share of the group for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2022. None of the directors or controlling shareholders of the company has any interest, direct or indirect, in this acquisition.
Shares in Samudera Shipping closed at 96 cents on Jan 6.
