Maybank’s group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Dato’ Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir has tendered his resignation from the bank on June 28.

His resignation will be effective July 15.

According to a statement put out by Maybank, Feisal will take up a position as managing director in a government-linked institution.

Feisal joined the Maybank group in September 2008 as managing director, head of investment banking for Maybank Investment Bank.

After leaving for Permodalan Nasional Berhad in September 2010, Feisal rejoined the bank as the group head, global banking in October 2014.

He was subsequently appointed group CFO in July 2016.

It has appointed its group financial controller, Khalijah Ismail, as acting group CFO in the interim.

Ismail has joined the bank since 1991 and comes with “extensive experience” through various lead roles within the Maybank group.

Shares in Bursa-listed Maybank closed 5 sen lower or 0.6% down at RM8.14 ($2.63) on June 28.
