SGX appoints former PwC Singapore chairman as independent director
SGX has appointed Yeoh Oon Jin, who retired as chairman of PwC Singapore on June 30, to its board.

Singapore Exchange (SGX) has announced the appointment of Yeoh Oon Jin to its board as an independent director on July 1.

Pursuant to joining the board, he will be appointed as chairman of the board audit committee as well as a member of the risk management committee with effect from Sep 1.

Yeoh, 60, was previously executive chairman of PwC Singapore for the last eight years before he announced he was stepping down on April 30. His retirement from the role took effect on June 30.

Presently, he also serves as chairman of the Singapore Land Authority.

Shares in SGX closed 33 cents or 2% higher at $11.18 on June 30.
