SIA Engineering Company is appointing Quek Bin Hwee as an independent, non-executive director with effect from April 1. She will also be a member of the board audit committee.
Quek is the former vice chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Singapore, where she was an audit partner for over 25 years. She is also a chartered accountant with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.
Quek’s other positions at PwC include deputy markets leader of PwC Asia Pacific and Americas and client and markets leader of PwC Asia Pacific. Her experience spans statutory audits, corporate governance, corporate restructuring, fraud investigations, business and finance.
She currently sits on the boards of CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust Management, Certis Cisco Security, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation and Mapletree Oakwood Holdings.

She is also a board member of various statutory boards, including the Health Promotion Board (until March 31, 2021), the National Heritage Board, and Gardens by the Bay.

Quek was previously president of the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association, deputy chairman of the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre, and a board member of the Housing & Development Board, Duke-NUS Medical School and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.
She was awarded the Public Service Medal in 2012 and the Public Service Star in 2017. She was also conferred Justice of the Peace in 2018.
Shares in SIA Engineering closed down 2 cents or 0.92% lower at $2.15 on March 23.
