SINGAPORE (June 25): The fully revamped Funan, Singapore’s first omnichannel shopping mall, has secured 95% committed occupancy for its retail component ahead of its Friday opening, bringing the total number of brands to more than 190.
Some of the mall’s newly signed tenants include Taobao, which will provide consumers with an integrated online-and-offline shopping experience, offering a wide range of products including furniture, household items, textiles, fashion and more.
Giving a boost to Funan’s cluster of photo equipment shops, Nikon will also be launching its first standalone outlet and flagship Experience Hub in Singapore at the mall, including the Nikon School, a workshop space for photography tutorials by professionals.
Apart from that, Funan will also house more than 80 food and beverage establishments, occupying 25% of its retail space. The F&B outlets include Afuri Ramen, Tsuta, Gong Cha, LiHo, Milksha, Liao Fan Hawker Chan, HawkerMan, Bizen Okayama Wagyu Steakhouse and Flavours by Sauté.
Working with Singapore Tourism Board, Funan will also host the Civic District’s first Singapore Visitor Centre in its Basement 2 level, where tourists can get more information about Singapore or purchase tickets to attractions and tours.
Chris Chong, managing director, retail, CapitaLand Singapore, says, "As part of Funan’s opening programming, shoppers can sign up for guided tours and receive recommendations from roving concierge on activities they can take part in. We hope that these arrangements will create a welcoming environment that encourages visitors to discover, learn and shop at the new Funan.”
Funan is managed by CapitaLand and owned by CapitaLand Mall Trust
