SINGAPORE (May 28): United Overseas Bank (UOB) and Mastercard today announced the launch of the UOB Regal Business Metal Card, the region’s first World Elite Mastercard metal card for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

In a joint press release on Thursday, the bank and financial services corporation say the new card will offer a comprehensive suite of travel privileges typically not available with commercial credit cards – such as unlimited access to airport lounges, as well as cost savings on business entertainment expenses with complimentary access to 60 golf clubs including the Singapore’s Sentosa Golf Club.

New sign-ups will also come with a one-year ‘Accor Plus’ membership for Accor Hotels’ Asia Pacific loyalty programme, which allows cardmembers to enjoy dining discounts and access to the ‘Stay 4, Pay 3’ accommodation privileges at participating hotels.

Complimentary membership with other prestigious loyalty programmes, such as Voyager by Langham Group and Discovery Black by Global Hotel Alliance, are also included as part of the UOB Regal Business Metal Card.

Further, the card offers exclusive access to existing Mastercard World Elite privileges comprising premium services, luxury amenities and rewards said to provide greater flexibility and higher spending limits.

The latest product release marks the third collaboration between UOB and Mastercard Singapore this year, following the launch of the KrisFlyer UOB co-branded credit card, as well as a recent revamp of the UOB Lady’s Card.

Citing a 2018 survey conducted between UOB and Mastercard in creating the UOB Regal Business Metal Card, Jacquelyn Tan, head of Personal Financial Services Singapore, UOB, says: “The number of SMEs using UOB commercial credit cards has increased by more than 65% over the last five years. Of these, most use their commercial credit cards in the region for travel and business entertainment.

To support these SMEs, we have designed the UOB Regal Business Metal Card, with its comprehensive suite of benefits and privileges to help them enjoy greater value and cost-savings in the areas they spend the most.”

Annual membership fee for the UOB Regal Business Metal Card is $680 inclusive of GST. It is non-waivable. Click here for more details.
