After the headline-grabbing acquisition of Credit Suisse, UBS has grown the combined AUM in Asia Pacific past the US$1 trillion mark. Young Jin Yee, co-head of the bank’s wealth management business in the region, looks back on the journey and shares what lies ahead.

For close to 20 years before joining UBS as co-head of global wealth management for Asia Pacific, Young Jin Yee had already built a reputation in the region as one of Credit Suisse’s standout private bankers, with media reports even taking note of the make of the cars that ferried her to work each day.

Her influence at Credit Suisse was so great that when news broke in October 2022 of Young joining Deutsche Bank, some of her soon-to-be former colleagues were dismayed.
