At first glance, the product is an interesting-looking one with beads of pigment in a clear serum base. These nude-coloured beads or encapsulated liposomes provide the sheer tint to the serum. They contain pure mineral pigments and prevent active ingredients from degrading.
Packed with hyaluronic acid, allantoin and olive squalene for moisture retention and barrier protection, and powerhouse antioxidant CoQ10 to reduce oxidative stress and boost the skin’s free radical-fighting abilities, this tinted serum allows for intensive hydration and evens skin tone. The finishing result is an effortlessly dewy glow and hydrated skin.
Perfect for even those with sensitive skin, the serum has ingredients like allantoin to sooth redness and rough, dry skin. Other powerful ingredients in this bottle include sorbitan olivate to prevent trans epidermal water loss, shea butter for a smoother and creamier application, as well as beeswax to improve product longevity and colour payoff by strengthening the pigment sphere structure.
Options had the chance to test out the product and found that it does what it says it does. The serum is very mildly tinted and offers very sheer coverage, giving a natural “no makeup look”. But when it is time to doll up, this serum acts as a great base below your foundation. This product also does not have any SPF, so you will have to pair this with an additional layer of road-spectrum SPF before you step out of the door.
Overall, the HydroPure Tinted Serum offers forgiving sheer coverage in seven different shades. This may sound like very few shades to choose from for most, but the Jane Iredale team has optimised and streamlined the shades to be as versatile as possible while expanding to include a deep offering.
