We love it when food waste is put to good use. Enter The Body Shop’s latest “ugly beauty” campaign, where wasted fruit and veggies are transformed into the shop’s latest line of body and skincare products. For example, cucumbers are used to fashion some yummy body yogurt, body butter and shower gel that feels so good after a day in the sun. For a much-needed zest in your life, there is also the lemon collection that includes body yogurt, scrub and shower gel. Tasty, indeed.

Chaumet’s Bee My Love collection is inspired by the bee and honeycomb. Each jewellery piece gives a fresh look at how gold, diamonds and geometry can be combined in the most artful manner. For example, rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings in yellow, rose and white gold come together in a range of sophisticated designs. The classic tennis bracelet is given a Chaumet touch in the form of a delicate line of white gold diamonds that can be worn with a matching short necklace in fully diamond pavé white gold.

Choose to reuse and recycle

That is a clarion call to action from H&M with an initiative that supports the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). How this initiative works is that customers are charged 10 cents for the use of every plastic or paper shopping bag across all stores in Singapore. Money collected from this initiative will then be donated to WWF-Singapore’s Plastic ACTion (PACT) initiative — an industry-wide plan for businesses to reduce plastic and work towards the goal of “No Plastics in Nature” by 2030 to support conservation efforts including research, innovation and conservation projects on plastics. Also, customers can also bring their unwanted clothes by any brand and in any condition to H&M, which will be collected to be reused, reworn or recycled with none going to a landfill. Other in-store sustainability efforts includes sustainability exhibitions to raise greater awareness and promote recycling and waste reduction among customers.

You’ve got mail

The humble mailbox has given Longchamp designers some ideas to design a handbag. This elegant leather bag has an illusion of a mailbox where letters can be slipped into a front pocket designed to resemble a mail slot. Like a mailbox, it boasts sleek lines and a structured look and the signature details give it a distinctive character. A metallic oval medallion adorns the leather, like a piece of elegant jewellery.

Wear it like Beckham

Eyewear by David Beckham features a drawing of the wings of a bird found on the front and side of the eyewear. Wings symbolises power and freedom and holds a very special symbol for Beckham as he has numerous wing tattoos on his body, the one on his neck being the most visible. There is also a DB monogram lasered on the front lens giving these frames a stylish contemporary finish. The Eyewear by David Beckham Collection for Fall/Winter 2020 will be available worldwide in selected eyewear stores starting from October. The collection is produced and distributed by the Safilo Group, a worldwide leader in the design, manufacturing and distribution of sunglasses, optical frames, sports eyewear and products.

Red hot

If you own one or more Christian Louboutin shoes you will understand how the red soles have become the iconic symbol of the brand. Now this red is extended to Christian Louboutin Beauty through the Rouge Louboutin Matte Fluids. It comprises five metal matte red fluid lip colours and five new red matte nail colours. Each item has a different shade of red for women at whatever stage they are in their lives now. Who cares if you are 60 years old and decide on a red lip shade that is as deep as cherries? It is about attitude, darling.
