Homegrown jeweller Poh Heng is teaming up with the Singapore Tourism Board to spotlight Peranakan culture as part of the SingapoRediscover campaign. To do this, Poh Heng’s flagship boutique at Orchard Road will transform its window display to depict the facade of a Peranakan House. The boutique will feature vintage Peranakan jewellery and ornaments from Poh Heng’s archives, along with modern interpretation of Peranakan-inspired pieces.

Destination shopping

As soon as border restrictions are lifted between Singapore and Malaysia, we should head straight to eslite from Taiwan: Its flagship store in Kuala Lumpur located at Starhill features a hybrid innovation “in books — and beyond”. But eslite is more than that — it is also a cultural content provider, operating professional bookstores, galleries, art exhibitions, music performances, cinemas, information logistics, and other cultural and creative businesses. There is also eslite spectrum, an omni-channel platform for creative commerce which includes physical channels that combine culture and creativity with industry, as well as e- commerce platforms, lifestyle brands, and catering businesses.

SEE: Gold standard

Let it rain

Saint Laurent and Hunter team up to combat the wet season with a new boots design that is made of natural rubber. Anthony Vaccarello’s limited edition design features a Hunter boot in black with silver studs and straps.

Style him

Still looking for that last-minute gift for him? Check out Burberry’s range of soft merino wool sweaters in jacquard- woven check, Scottish-made Icon stripe scarf in double-faced cashmere, carefully brushed with teasels for a super-soft finish, and finally, an Italian-made leather Robin bag and Icon stripe leather card case.

Know your alphabet

Dolce&Gabbana Fine Jewellery launches the Alphabet Collection of 3.5cm yellow gold pendants that are illuminated by a veritable rainbow of natural gemstones such as topaz, garnet, amethyst, citrine, peridot and tourmaline. Match these with the rings that are characterised by a refined rounded yellow gold band with engraved logo and a pendant letter enriched by skilfully harmonised gems. The Alphabet Collection is available in Dolce&Gabbana boutiques, select jewellery stores and online at www.dolcegabbana.com.

Black and gold

Step out in the new year with a pair of Salvatore Ferragamo’s famous Viva shoes on a medium or low heel, black nappa and a black-gold combo in an elegant croc effect. There is also a sandal with chunky heel in the same materials. Choose from four styles — mule, slingback, pump and ballerina — in velvet, nappa and metallic.

Minimal in design but big on function

The Harrison collection by Tumi features a range of bags designed with compartments to hold all your essentials. It is stylish too, with a new Fern print that has a subtle reflective quality which pops against the black material. Other design features include silver zipper details and grey luggage tags. The lining, in green, is made from recycled material.
