History and heritage live on
Montblanc digs into their heritage and has reinterpreted its 1920s version of the Heritage Egyptomania writing instruments. To be specific, it is the Egyptian Fountain Pen from the 1920s. The version may be new but the back story remains as captivating as it did back then. It all began with the numerous archaeological adventures and discoveries of ancient Egypt in the 1920s. The artefacts unearthed captured the attention of the Western world and Montblanc was one of them, the maison released a fountain pen featuring an octagonal shape with Egyptian style engravings.The fascination for the maison continues and this new iteration has on the cap written a set of authentic hieroglyphics that translate into the word Montblanc. Created in partnership with an Egyptology expert, the symbols mean “white stone mountain”, accurately describing Montblanc. There are many more hieroglyphics featured on the writing instrument and it will be better if you made your way to the boutiques to discover more; kind of like your very own expedition.
For a good cause
Architect, designer and philanthropist Bill Bensley has ventured into the world of jewellery via a collaboration with Australian jewellery designer and gemologist Kate McCoy. It is for a very good cause as monies raised will go toward the Wildlife Alliance who protect the forest from illegal logging and poaching at Shinta Mani Wild luxury tented camp in the South Cardamom National Forest in Cambodia. In total, there are seven exquisite heirloom collections comprising 20 pieces known as Nature’s Treasury collection.
