Box appeal

The classic box bag has been given an update by Hedi Slimane, creative director for Celine. The Tabou has a relaxed shape in calfskin that is lined with lambskin leather. The accordion side gussets give the bag room to expand should you need the space. To be worn over the shoulder or in the crossbody style.

A good base

Laneige expands its product offerings with Neo Foundation that comes in matte and glow finish to suit different skin needs. The lightweight formula glides on smoothly and is meant to last at least 48 hours. The best part — it is sweat-resistant and reduces the redness and appearance of pores.

You’re a superstar

Carolina Herrera launches two fragrances — Good Girl and Bad Boy — as part of its Superstar collection. Both fragrances come in a silver bottle. The Good Girl stiletto design returns with a dazzling glitter finish, while the lightning bolt that defines the Bad Boy debuts with a new design.

Designer shades

The latest Cartier Eyewear Collection features a selection of sunglasses and optical frames inspired by the famous wristwatch crafted for aviator Santos Dumont. Consistent with the Santos core aesthetic, frames are characterised by shapes in metal that are finished with signature screws and geometrical temple tips, referencing the original elements of the watch.

To flip or to fold?

By Felicia Tan

Those who grew up between the late 1990s and the early 2010s will remember the flip phone — or clamshell design — fondly.

Back then, there was nothing cooler than to answer your phone calls by flipping open your device to say “hi”.

Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Flip3 5G aims to recreate that experience — only bigger, better and brighter.

The latest flip phone offering from the Korean electronics giant comes with a redesigned cover screen at 1.9 inches, which is four times larger than the original Galaxy Z Flip 5G.

The phone’s main screen measures 6.7 inches. This makes it easier for users to view notifications and messages without actually having to flip the phone open.

The phone also comes with some of Samsung’s latest camera features, including taking selfies hands-free. Furthermore, the phone allows users to snap photos — whenever, wherever — with the device folded or open.

If you use your phone to watch YouTube videos or TV shows, the phone lets you prop your device up, which can come in handy when you’re eating, or require your hands for other tasks.

The phone comes in cream, green, lavender and phantom black. The Samsung Online Store offers three more exclusive shades in grey, pink and white.

Now, should you prefer a phone that offers you plenty of screen space and yet is easy to tote around, the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G checks all the boxes.

The model comes with an undisrupted 7.6-inch Infinity Flex Display, 22.6% more than the Galaxy S21 5G’s 6.2-inch screen.

When folded, the phone allows users to check their text messages, as well as use other compatible applications on its Multi-Active Window.

When open, users get to feel like they’re toting a mini laptop around. For instance, the phone’s Microsoft Outlook app offers the full desktop experience displaying full emails with previews on the side.

The phone comes with a separate S Pen for those seeking a more tablet-like experience.

The S Pen itself comes in two options — the S Pen Fold Edition and S Pen Pro. The Galaxy Z Fold3 5G comes in phan- tom black, phantom green and phantom silver, and retails from $2,398 for a 256GB phone.

The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G retails from $1,398 for a 128GB phone. Both models will be available in Singapore from Sept 10.
