Noir magic
Rouge Hermès receives a touch of black in its packaging design, setting off the vibrant hues of the lipstick collection. Just as chiaroscuro creates an effect of contrast, these limited-edition lipstick shades juxtapose brilliantly, inviting us to explore the various intense and coloured tones of black. Chiaroscuro, meaning “light-dark”, is a term used to describe paintings, referring to distinct tonal contrasts to suggest the volume and modelling of depicted subjects. Renowned artists such as Leonardo da Vinci and Caravaggio are famous for using chiaroscuro. Designed by Pierre Hardy, the creator of Hermès Beauty objects, three original tubes encase the shades of coloured black.
