A bond so pure and strong
Chinese Valentine’s Day or the Qiqiao Festival falls on Aug 25. It tells a story of two lovers — a cowherd and a weaver fairy whose love is not blessed by the gods. So once a year, they promise to meet on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. To celebrate this legendary tale of love, Estée Lauder launched a limited-edition collection of lipstick that depicts the two lovers reunited on the packaging, and comprises of three Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in shades Carnal 520, Slow Burn 130 and Emotional 140.

Loro Piana’s Stripe tote bag is made from linen, cotton canvas or cashmere and has two distinctive multicoloured stripes that go all the way around it before doubling up as handles. It has everything for everyone including a thorough scientific explanation of the serum that promises a more youthful appearance after seven days of use.
Lucky Animals
After three years of its Lucky Animals launch, Van Cleef & Arpels added five new members from the animal kingdom — the Turtle, Horse, Panda, Duck and Pig. To elevate the high jewellery collection, the maison appointed Korean artistic director Younghee Sue to interpret these creations through her artwork. She uses fauna to match each animal by using hand crafted hanji paper, flowers by Korean traditional techniques and drawings in which the jewels seem to come to life in their natural environment. She says: “When I met these adorable Lucky Animals, they brought back some of my childhood memories. They reminded me of my good old friends from Korean traditional fairy tales. This is where I drew my inspiration from.”
