Ferrari has inaugurated a state-of-the-art, 42,500 sq. m. E-building that houses over 300 workers in Maranello just north of the Ferrari Campus.
The E-building will integrate the production of the entire range into a single building, encompassing internal combustion engines, hybrid engines and new electric motors.

This allows the Prancing Horse to respond quickly to changes in production demands, as it is able to reorganise and reallocate production activities efficiently between the existing facilities in Maranello.
Rectangular in shape, 25 metres tall and integrating perfectly into the existing landscape, the exterior façades and main interior spaces of the E-building were designed by MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects – a firm that specialises in sustainable solutions.

Opaline glazing is interspersed with clear glass portions allows natural light in, as well as mitigates the size of the imposing structure. At night (main picture), it even resembles a glowing lantern!
One of the power sources for the building is solar, with more than 3,000 panels installed on the roof to produce a peak power of 1.3MW.

Certain solutions have been employed to reuse energy and rainwater in the production cycle.
For instance, more than 60 per cent of the energy used for battery and motor testing will be recovered to power new processes.
The E-building was inaugurated in the presence of Italian President Sergio Mattarella.
“We are honoured to have President Mattarella with us for the inauguration of the e-building, a plant that combines the centrality of the people in the workplace with respect for the environment," commented Ferrari's President, John Elkann.
