The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is a new member of the electric vehicle line-up. This versatile version of the EQE executive saloon combines EQS innovations with the dynamic flair of the EQS SUV. It stands out as a spacious option in its class, offering a unique blend of timeless luxury and quiet power in a more compact size than its saloon counterpart, with a wheelbase slightly shorter by 9cm.

“As we work towards being ready to go all-electric in Singapore by 2030, every new model launched in this lead-up represents great significance to us, our brand and our sustainability efforts, and the EQE SUV certainly does not disappoint. The EQE SUV is not only on the leading edge of Mercedes-Benz user and driver experience, but is also produced on a net carbon-neutral basis while incorporating more resource-saving materials in its production,” says Claudius Steinhoff, president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Singapore.

“While we continue to redefine desirability in this new phase of growth and progress towards electric mobility, the EQE SUV represents a strong vision of the direction we wish to head in — best-in-class driver and passenger engagement and connectivity, paired with a striking design and emotional appeal. We look forward to showcasing glimpses of Mercedes-Benz’s all-electric future to our local consumers through the EQE SUV, and hope they’ll join us in our ambition towards a greener tomorrow,” he adds.

One of the most notable features of the EQE SUV is its performance capabilities. It is equipped with a new traction battery using lithium-ion technology and a 400-volt architecture, specifically developed to meet the high-performance demands of an all-electric SUV.

This ensures maximum power, even during repeated powerful accelerations in challenging terrain. Two robust electric motors power the EQE SUV and feature variable all-wheel drive, transforming energy into unbridled driving power for a dynamic, emphatic and electrifying AMG driving experience on any surface.

The power and efficiency of the EQE SUV are unparalleled. Its modular drive concept allows for high overall performance and long range, offering maximum total outputs from 180 kW to 215 kW in the standard models and 350 kW to 460 kW in the AMG variants.

The EQE 300, available at launch, has a maximum capacity output of 180 kW. With WLTP (worldwide harmonised light vehicle test procedure) ranges of up to 565km depending on vehicle equipment and configuration, the EQE SUV is designed for efficiency and endurance. The vehicle features an electric drivetrain (eATS) on the rear axle, and 4MATIC versions also include an eATS on the front axle.

The Torque Shift function in 4MATIC models ensures intelligent, continuously variable distribution of drive torque between the rear and front electric motors, optimising the most efficient eATS in each case. Additionally, the electric motor at the front axle can be completely decoupled by the Disconnect Unit, reducing drag losses and improving efficiency.

Redefining performance

The Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+ SUV, which has yet to arrive on Singapore’s shores, redefines performance with even more power and passion. It offers optional features such as the AMG Dynamic Plus package, which includes a performance boost from Race Start and an increase in maximum speed to 240 km/h. Despite its sportiness, comfort is not sacrificed due to the AMG Active Ride Control that precisely compensates for movements and ensures even better handling.

The EQE SUV also impresses with its user interface. The MBUX Hyperscreen with Head-up Display extends the entire interior width, providing a futuristic and highly intuitive interface. This system is precisely adapted to the driver’s needs, displaying the most important information, such as the AMG Dynamic Select driving programmes, at the right time.

The interior of the EQE SUV is spacious and versatile, adapting perfectly to various situations like commutes, family holidays or off-road adventures. This versatility and its performance-oriented drive concept make the EQE SUV an ideal all-rounder.

Aesthetically, the EQE SUV is dynamic and distinctly AMG. Despite its SUV-typical dimensions, it features generously modelled surfaces and seamless transitions for a sporty and dynamic appearance. The distinctive front end with the EQ Black Panel and AMG-typical elements underscores the performance aspirations of the EQE SUV, making it a visually striking vehicle that will surely attract attention.

Regarding performance, the EQE SUV models, such as the 350 and 500, showcase impressive acceleration capabilities. For instance, the 350 model can go from 0 to 62 mph in 6.6 seconds, while the 500 model can achieve this in 4.9 seconds. The driving experience is enhanced by its comfortable ride in various modes like Eco, Comfort and Normal, along with precise and lightly weighted steering.

The EQE SUV has a 90.6-kWh battery pack, providing a driving range of about 279 miles (449 km) in the most efficient rear-wheel drive EQE350+ model, as Mercedes-Benz estimates.

The EQE SUV’s electric motors are permanently excited synchronous motors known for their high-power density, efficiency and constancy. Mercedes-Benz has utilised a pull-in winding for these motors’ particularly strong magnetic fields. The two-phase design of the motor on the rear axle enhances its power output.

As for battery technology, the EQE SUV benefits from Mercedes-Benz’s advancements in battery development, a key factor in its electrification strategy. The EQE SUV’s lithium-ion battery comprises 10 cell blocks designed for performance, efficiency and charging capacity. Mercedes-Benz also provides a battery certificate for its high-voltage batteries, offering a performance guarantee of 10 years or a mileage of 250,000 km with a defined residual capacity.

The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is a significant addition to the electric vehicle market, offering a unique blend of luxury, performance and sustainability. Its advanced technology, dynamic design and impressive performance capabilities make it a compelling choice for those seeking a high-end electric SUV.
