This has become a necessity for the brands today, as Singapore accelerates its Green Plan to completely electrify the vehicle population in the country by 2040.
This talk is indeed still active in town and it was led by carmaker Porsche in its studio in Guoco Midtown.
As part of its Studio activation series, Porsche has used its multi-purpose space on the second floor of its studio to host its first Speaker Series in April, titled Journey to a Cleaner World, in celebration of Earth Day 2024.

This talk is part of Porsche Singapore’s Driving Tomorrow activation series, where Porsche Singapore spotlights creative trailblazers and entrepreneurs with a pioneering spirit together to speak about the latest trends in the automotive world.
Apart from fun activities, such as sustainability bingo and a zero-waste brunch for guests to enjoy, Porsche Singapore, with its host Stephanie Dickson from Green is the New Black, led a dialogue about owning EVs in Singapore.

The other members of the panel included Kong Man Jing, co-founder of the science and environment-themed YouTube Channel “Just Keep Thinking”, Dean Cher, head of mobility, sustainable energy solutions SP Group; and Dr. Tan Wei Ming, owner of a Porsche Taycan.
The conversation centred around the need for better charging infrastructure, affordable and accessible charging points, as well as incentives to encourage more people to switch to EVs.
The speakers also discussed the importance of using social media to raise awareness about sustainable living practices and the challenges of having conversations about sustainability without being preachy or alienating others.
Additionally, the role of educational directors (EDs) in Singapore's education system was discussed, with speakers emphasising the importance of individual actions in addressing climate change and adjusting to change.
Porsche is making the effort to demystify challenges and issues that potential EV owners may have about owning an EV. Its studio space will be used to further host such events to bring people together and have discussions on the theme of the event.
