Porsche launches the V8-engined Cayenne GTS and Cayenne GTS Coupe
With its nicely-balanced blend of everyday performance and comfort, Porsche’s GTS (for Gran Turismo Sport) variant has traditionally been the sweet spot of the respective model ranges.
It’s not as “hot” as the fearsome GT models and not as “cold” as the Plain Vanilla models, but “just right” in the Goldilocks stakes, especially in terms of performance and equipment levels.
This makes the Cayenne GTS the perfect all-rounder for drivers who want to enjoy a sporty drive that can serve touring duties without the associated uncompromising “hardship” that comes with a track-ready model.

In this latest iteration, the twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre at the heart of the Cayenne GTS produces 500hp and 660Nm – 40hp and 40Nm more than its predecessor – matched to an 8spd Tiptronic S automatic transmission.
The power-packed credentials will see the GTS blast from 0-100km/h in 4.4secs on the way to its 275km/h top speed.

Naturally, the GTS features design elements specific to the model, including black “GTS” lettering on the sides and rear of the Cayenne (and Cayenne Coupe).
In addition to the Sport Design body attachments in High-Gloss Black, it gets bigger cooling air-intakes on a new front-end, red brake callipers, as well as dark tinted headlights and tail-lights.
Additionally, the GTS has its sports exhaust system tailpipes now finished in dark bronze (instead of black from last generation’s GTS model), with the stylishly sporty exterior visual proceedings topped-off by anthracite grey 21-inch RS Spyder-design wheels.
Inside the GTS, the driver enjoys a GT sports steering wheel with which to orchestrate the SUV’s manoeuvres, with motorsports-inspired, suede-like Race-Tex cladding large portions of the car.
The GTS also benefits from the latest updates to the Cayenne range, with the new Porsche Driver Experience and curved digital instrument cluster as standard (as well as the opportunity to specify it with the optional passenger display).

The Cayenne Coupe GTS specifically has three different lightweight sports packages it can be optioned with, which include lightweight roof (the Cayenne GTS Coupe has a fixed glass panoramic roof as standard) and carbon rear diffuser, as well as reduced insulation. Depending on the equipment, the Lightweight packages can shed up to 25kg from the Cayenne GTS Coupe.
Dynamically, the Cayenne GTS inherits some of the cool bits from the top-shelf Cayenne Turbo GT, such as the front axle pivot bearings and independent water cooling circuit for the all-wheel drivetrain’s transfer box.
The former has the effect of increasing the negative camber of the wheels for even more agile and engaging handling traits, while the latter stabilises the continuous load capacity during spirited drives on track or winding roads.
The GTS sits 10mm lower than the regular models and boasts adaptive air suspension as standard, including PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) and PTV Plus (Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus), all of which have been calibrated to deliver invigorating on-road performance.
The prices for the Cayenne GTS and Cayenne GTS Coupe in Singapore start from about $615,488 before COE and options.
