March 8 marks International Women’s Day, an annual event that recognises women for their achievements and accomplishments. It is also a day for women to think about gender equality, bias, stereotypes and discrimination.
To celebrate the date, Italian luxury fashion house Brunello Cucinelli turned their boutique at Marina Bay Sands into a beautiful space for women to network as well as to admire Brunello Cucinelli’s Spring summer 2022 collection. Cucinelli started his business in Solomeo, Italy by making cashmere sweaters that evolved into a fashion house that produces contemporary fashion that is loved by celebrities and royals alike.

The guests (made up of around 12 women) were also treated to a special welcome video message from the founder’s daughter Carolina Cucinelli who has taken on a bigger role in running the family business. The ladies were then treated to a chat session with Stefanie Ng, Audemars Piguet’s CEO for Southeast Asia (including India and Australia). The brand is the oldest fine watchmaking manufacturer still in the hands of its founding families (Audemars and Piguet).

Ng, who was appointed as CEO in 2019, touched on topics such as her journey to the top in an industry that is dominated by men and she also touched on topics such as the need for women in leadership positions as well as ways in which she strikes a work and life balance. At the end of the session, models walked among the ladies showcasing the Spring-summer 2022 collection and had a closer look at the fine workmanship of each piece.
