Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are giving the altar a second chance after their split in 2004.

Affleck proposed in April while Lopez was taking a bubble bath. The “Marry Me” star said the proposal was her “biggest dream” come true.

The couple began dating for the first time in 2002 and got engaged that year. The couple eventually split in 2004 after postponing their wedding. Lopez officially confirmed that they were dating again in July.

This time, the ring of choice is a very rare cushion cut 8.5-carat green diamond flanked by a white diamond on either side. The ring is said to be valued at around US$5 million to US$7 million and sourced by Ilan Portugali of Beverly Hills Diamonds.

According to Josh Weinman, CEO of Artisan Global Alliance, there's been a call on the street for the last two months for a ring like this, he says via Bloomberg.

Artisan Global Alliance specialises in fancy coloured and white diamonds, according to its website.

The solitaire isn’t JLo’s first brush with coloured diamonds.

When Affleck first proposed with a 6.10-carat pink diamond created by Harry Winston in 2002, the ring sparked off a trend for pink diamonds at the time.
