Brunello Cucinelli’s expanded boutique at Marina Bay Sands offers the busy executive a relaxing space to enjoy its wearable collection of everyday luxury

Step into the world of Brunello Cucinelli and luxuriate in its refined collection of casual luxe coordinates and cashmere knitwear at its newly revamped and expanded boutique at Marina Bay Sands. The 273 sq m showroom takes you armchair travelling to Solomeo, the birthplace of the eponymous label that has been expertly blending casual luxury with distinguished Italian style since it launched in 1978.

Designed to reflect the philosophy and distinctive DNA of the brand, the showroom is now outfitted with special furnishings and fittings to convey the spirit of this small but robust town in Central Italy.

As you take your first steps into the calming space, you are greeted by backdrops of arched doorways reminiscent of Solomeo’s renaissance architecture.

Natural tones and unprocessed wood are complemented by bronze metallic elements and softened with artisanal wool rugs, restored furniture and soft lighting — all designed to create a relaxing and tranquil environment to let you peruse the racks at your own leisure.

According to the press statement, inspiration is drawn from the Italian lifestyle and enriched with contemporary lines and modern elements that underscore the brand’s luxurious take on understated aesthetics and polished sophistication.

This remodelling comes just after the opening of new boutiques elsewhere in the world such as New Bond Street in London and Prospettiva Nevskij in Saint Petersburg.

“By expanding our space in Singapore during this global New Time, we continue to look towards inspiring hope, courage and rebirth. We are proud to bring a part of Italy to such an important spot in Singapore, a historical meeting point of different cultures, of trade and of innovation,” reads the media advisory.

Spring is here

The cosy space gives ample room for one to enjoy its current Spring-Summer 2021 line-up which seamlessly blends the men’s and women’s collections, filled with a sportivo chic assembly of drapey cardigans and crew necks, softly tailored trousers, form-fitting jackets and cashmere knits, all elegantly washed in reassuring tones of nudes, blues and greys, reflective of Solomeo’s wondrous landscape.

The women’s collection conveys an airy feeling of lightness featuring natural textures and soft, willowy silhouettes. From flattering high-waisted trousers to belted jackets and sequin knitwear, the racks light up the boutique with soft textures, soothing earthy shades and shiny details.

You will also find this understated, effortless style applied to the men’s collection that sports a diverse ensemble of nautical to sporty coordinates, including well-engineered jackets, tapered trousers and comfy cardigans for the smartly-dressed urban man. The current collection also includes a matching array of footwear, bags, leather goods and newsboy caps (which Cucinelli is also famous for).

More importantly, Cucinelli’s luxury casual-chic prêt-à-porter apparel is created ethically in every way possible, without being harmful or disrespectful towards people or the environment — an ethos that we can all appreciate during this time.

A style for the times

For decades, Cucinelli has preached the gospel of casual luxury – from its deconstructed blazers to triple-ply cashmere sweaters — not considered the typical look for the boardroom.

But through the years, the Italian label has been receiving lots of traction with the C-suite crowd, celebrities and even tech giants (Steve Jobs’ custom turtleneck and Mark Zuckerberg’s signature grey T-shirts are all Cucinelli’s doing).

There’s just something about the laid back, understated finesse of this fairly young brand that has captains of industry clamouring for its timelessly chic jackets. In an interview, Brunello Cucinelli likens his creations to a good book. It should be something you keep forever and go back to over and over,” he says.

While its blazers may cost thousands of dollars — partially due to the fact they are hand-stitched in Italy and made with quality materials like cashmere sourced from Hircus goats — part of the draw of Cucinelli’s clothing is its name appeal.

To us, owning a Cucinelli blazer is a sign that you have reached the pinnacle of success and taste.
