Hermès leads the way when it comes to style in men’s summer fashion for 2022

In a dilemma as to what to wear for our beautiful warm weather? Hermès has a collection that is light and relaxed. The feel is one of the great outdoors with fabrics that are interwoven with technical know-how that gives off summer vibes. An example is the use of leather that is given a burst of colours and stitched graphics to add interest.

To bring the look together are the colours used. It is an amazing play of shades that complement and do not clash. Greyish pink, tender green, celadon green, algae, pale blue, bright yellow. White, off-white, steam, stone grey, raw silk, hemp, chocolate, carbon and black, all come together in one soothing collection.

The collection consists of round neck pullovers and tee-shirts with Tunisian collars in linen and silk; short-sleeved shirts with floral puzzle motifs in cashmere or sea island cotton; and cardigans and round-neck pullovers in tangy mouliné cashmere along with short-sleeved polo in 1800’s wool and leather pocket.

Trousers get the pleated treatment in stretch cotton serge or cotton drill. There are pleated trousers with drawstring waist in crackled cotton poplin and playful topstitching; large trousers and pleated Bermuda shorts with coloured zips and saddle nails in cotton drill or inflamed linen and cotton canvas; and large trousers and Bermuda shorts in stretch cotton serge and Bermuda shorts with drawstring waist in plume calfskin.

The creative brains behind the collection and the staged fashion show are Véronique Nichanian and theatre director Cyril Teste who teamed up for the third time to produce a show together.

The live show went ahead despite the pandemic, as Nichanian explains, “The relationship to the audience is very important. In a fashion show, the human connection is irreplaceable; seeing people wearing the clothes is what breathes life into them. It’s an essential experience that shines a light on each person’s approach to what they wear.”

Teste adds, “We’ve set up a system which is both complex and fluid. The models will appear on several screens of varying sizes, including huge ones, and thanks to these, the audience will have a very precise view of the detail and movement.”
