Thailand’s boutique fitness brand Absolute has opened its Star Vista studio at Vista Exchange Green. This is the brand’s fourth outlet in Singapore, with three other studios in Orchard Central on Orchard Road, Millenia Walk at Raffles Boulevard and i12 Katong on East Coast Road. Absolute is also opening another outlet in Great World City this month, featuring just its pilates reformer classes.

The new Star Vista studio is a fitness haven popular for its signature rhythm cycling and pilates reformer classes. Classes here are designed to be a holistic experience to elevate your physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

Spanning an impressive 3,290 sq ft, the Star Vista studio showcases state-of-the-art facilities that set the stage for a great workout. Feel the energy surrounding you in the immersive cycling room, where vibrant lights and a powerful surround sound system create a thrilling atmosphere. Meanwhile, the pilates room — flooded with natural light pouring in through floor-to-ceiling windows — offers a serene and inspiring space for your practice.

Equipped with 20 top-of-the-line Merrithew SPX Max Reformers and 35 Stages SC2 bikes, the studio offers premier pilates reformer and rhythm cycling classes. Post-workout, indulge in luxury with spacious male and female locker rooms with lockers, showers, hairdryers, and plush towels. Members can also elevate their self-care routine by treating their skin with the award-winning local skincare brand, Sigi Skin, available for rejuvenation in the locker room.

Absolute expects to continue its growth in the city-state as the team seeks to expand its reach to support wellness and fitness journeys. “Since the inception of Absolute in 2002 (in Thailand), our goal has remained to provide a safe space for people from all walks of life to enjoy exercise. We are always identifying the gaps in the market and seeing how we can better support individuals in their different journeys,” says Benjaporn Karoonkorsakul, founder and CEO of The Absolute Group.

The brand revolutionised Singapore’s fitness scene by being one of the first few to offer rhythm cycling and reformer pilates classes. The various rhythm cycling classes are tailored to newcomers and seasoned riders. Regardless of the difficulty level, prepare for a captivating fusion of music, movement, and motivation in each ride, delivering an invigorating cardio workout that engages your entire body with energy and fun.

As for the pilates reformer classes, the practice aims to provide a low-impact and effective full-body workout to build flexibility, strength, endurance and coordination without adding muscle bulk. It helps sculpt the body, strengthen core muscles, and improve posture.

Options had the privilege of immersing ourselves in a novice spin class at Absolute, and the experience was truly delightful. Despite my own experience as a seasoned rider, I admired the class’s thoughtful approach to accommodating newcomers to the world of spinning. Accompanied by a group of colleagues who were new to spin, we embarked on this invigorating journey under the guidance of the instructor, Kai.

The session started with a comprehensive 15-minute foundation course (F15), meticulously crafted to aid riders in setting up their bikes and acclimating to the studio’s vibrant ambience. Once the preparations were complete, the class delved into an intense 45-minute workout, leaving us exhilarated and energised.

During Kai’s class, I observed a comfortable balance between an intermediate-level workout and a thoughtful approach towards newcomers. She attentively monitored the beginners and consistently reassured them that adjusting their pace or taking breaks was acceptable.

I appreciated this the most, as I’ve witnessed instances at various spin studios where beginners tend to overexert themselves during their initial sessions, leading to potential injuries. The continual reminders for new riders to take their time on the bike, enjoy the music, and relish the overall class experience are crucial elements for a class that welcomes novices.

The class provided a safe and welcoming space for all riders, regardless of experience, to enjoy and groove to the music. Rhythm cycling is like dancing on a bike, and while it may be tough for beginners at first, consistency and practice help find the rhythm. The same principle applies to pilates reformer exercises.

Absolute dedicates itself to fostering fitness progression through its comprehensive programmes, which encompass invigorating rhythm cycling and invigorating pilates reformer workouts. Discover the benefits of their offerings with drop-in rates commencing at $49 per class, while newcomers can seize introductory packages, starting at just $75 for a 10-day unlimited trial, and embark on a life-altering fitness journey.
