SINGAPORE (Aug 21): When founder Edward Foo’s mother was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2017, he wanted to give her a healthy and tasty options as the chemotherapy left her with a loss of appetite. Foo who is in the sports nutrition and health supplements industry put his skills to use and experimented with ice cream.
He wanted something that was a treat, delicious and most of all nutritious. He created WOAH! that is low fat, low carb, low calorie and low sugar ice cream. He even gave it to other cancer patients to try and they all gave him a positive feedback.
How did he turn something that ordinarily has so much sugar to something so healthy? It is the ingredients Foo used that are high in proteins – an important ingredient that helps cell development. Here’s the scientific bit: WOAH! protein ice cream contains a powerful branched-chain amino acid (BCAA), L-Leucine. It is an essential amino acid which stimulates protein synthesis and assists with building muscle mass. It may help with weight and fat loss and works best under metabolic stress. It is burned by the muscles as fuel and is especially beneficial to older people. WOAH! is high in minerals like calcium and iron, and has low sugar and calorie content. It is vegetarian and gluten-free.
