Colour focus: Spice up your home with cherry-toned chairs, carmine carpets

Passion, desire, excitement — things that keep us going amid the monotony of daily life. One fiery colour captures all of that, and a bag of (spicy) chips: red. 

But despite its captivating symbolism, it’s a colour often avoided in furniture, for fear of coming across too loud or overbearing. And while that may be the case when paired with an unrestrained hand, a light touch of scarlets and vermillions can add a much-needed pop to the usual blacks, browns, beiges and whites in a room.
