Grand Relax lounge chair by Vitra is the ultimate when it comes to unwinding. Developed by Vitra in Switzerland and designed by Antonio Citterio, these chairs offer quite an experience when it comes to total relaxation from the minute you sink into its soft inviting feather foam cushions.
When you sit down, you will find yourself gradually sinking lower before a concealed integrated mechanism absorbs the bodyweight and shifts the chair into a reclined position. The seat and backrest move independently in a synchronised motion while a control knob that can be turned to adjust the resistance of the mechanism. The backrest can also be locked at any angle. The adjustable neck cushion is perfect for the whole family as everyone will have a different preference.
Made of polished or powder-coated aluminium, the lounge chair can pivot 360 degrees. A matching ottoman is available as a footrest or additional seating option, a great way to stretch out while you watch your favourite TV programme.
Last year, the Grand Relax was launched in leather to give the lounge chair a softer appearance. Pairing split leather with leather Premium or fabric creates a dynamic contrast between the armchair’s inner and outer faces. Split leather is also used to cover the understructure of the seat and ottoman.

Although the Grand Relax lounge chair by Vitra was developed to celebrate the properties of leather, the choice of materials has logically been extended to include a version in fabric. The soft cushions of Grand Relax with fabric covers provide a different warmer style of comfort. The lower half of the outer shell is still clad in split leather, creating new opportunities for contrasting effects with the different textiles and their range of colours.
