Is Mission: Electric 2025 one of the rare sequels that surpasses the original?
The tricky thing about a sequel is, folks invariably compare it to the original.
2024's "Mission: Electric" was a real zinger. At $50 a car (of up to four participants), it featured all the core groups for a fabulous half-day out: a fleet of electric Mercedes-Benz EQ vehicles, great company, great farm-to-table food and an electrifying drive route from the showroom to Dempsey, then up to the Kranji 'countryside' and back again to the showroom.
For the same $50 entry fee, the 2025 iteration of "Mission: Electric" follows a somewhat similar activity format, albeit without the sustainable sustenance sessions we found so on-point from 2024.

This year's is a real vibe-check with an emphasis on optics, with gorgeous, bespoke merch and activities structured around teamwork ('Find the Star' treasure hunt for instance) and building memories.

Each team had the use of a cool 'Paper Shoot Camera' (pictured above) to capture precious moments during the event, such as against the backdrop of the Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay for instance.
Judging from this year's casual vibe, crew and promo material, the gamified 'Grammable aesthetics of the second iteration of "Mission: Electric" scores high on rizz and seems targeted at a younger audience, as opposed to crusty old'uns like this writer. As before, the objective to "Mission: Electric" is a part education, part entertainment soft-sell, and is designed to get warm bodies warm and fuzzy about the brand's EQ models.
Participants are introduced to the cars, some of their features (which form part of the 'challenges') and a quick "how-to-charge" lesson using the MB.Charge app, as they alternate through the fleet during a half-day.
We were in the morning session, which saw us drive from the showroom to Gardens by the Bay, then to Wheeler's Estate in Seletar, before heading back to the showroom.
