SINGAPORE (May 6): If you remember playing strategic life-simulation video game The Sims in the Noughties, you will love how Moschino has incorporated it into its fashion. The Moschino x The Sims capsule collection features items with pixelated designs and iconic motifs from The Sims, such as a Plumbob bathing suit, a Freezer Bunny cell-phone cover and a Uni-Lama T-shirt.

“I love the idea of being able to imagine, design and bring to life a world of individual personas with The Sims universe,” says Jeremy Scott, creative director of Moschino. “That concept emulates what I get to do for each collection at Moschino as I create a fantasy universe of spectacular storylines and characters.”

Summer styles

For the third time, Loewe collaborates with legendary Ibiza boutique Paula’s to create bohemian coastal dressing with playful prints. The Summer 2019 collection comprises items that focus on natural fibres and sun-bleached shades. Separates are matched with full-floating skirts and maxi dresses.

Beauty in hues of blue

Montblanc’s new Bohème Automatic Date features a blue aesthetic. The timepiece is available in 30mm and 34mm cases with curved and integrated horns, an onion crown, Arabic numerals, blue leaf-shaped hour and minute hands and a dot minuterie that circles the dial. The dial is silvery-white motherof- pearl with a shell guilloché pattern, with options for eight diamonds on the dial and 72 diamonds on the bezel (for the 34mm model). The date is visible through an elliptical opening at six o’clock. To complete the blue aesthetic, the timepiece has a strap the colour of blue jeans with an interchangeable strap mechanism.

Timeless appeal

Fans of Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller North by Northwest starring Cary Grant may not have noticed the sunglasses he was wearing. Eyewear brand Oliver Peoples has launched a range of elegant frames paying homage to the actor. The tortoise acetate frames — for optical and sun protection purposes — have the actor’s initials, CG, engraved on the temple tip and come in a custom case inspired by the colours of the suit he wore in the movie.

Scents and sensibilities

Floraïku is a series of luxury fragrances inspired by Asian traditions, ceremonies, culture and the haiku, hence the name: Flora + haiku = Floraïku. Just like a haiku, which uses words sparingly to express an idea, the mix of ingredients in the fragrance may be few, but the result is sensual and striking. Each scent is a unique combination of flower, tea and wood and is presented in a beautifully designed Japanese bento box.

Bare bones and heart

The Ulysse Nardin Skeleton X features a new movement that lays bare its technology to reveal the beauty of the three-dimensional heart beating inside. The shape of its 42mm case is more angular and masculine. Visible through the architecture of the dial is the UN-371 calibre and Freak Vision, a super-light balance wheel in silicium that is extra wide. Elaborately finished and hand-polished, the Skeleton X reflects the artisan’s touch and the watchmaker’s experience and savoir faire.
