Time to hit the beaches as the weather gets warmer and you are a regular at the gym, thanks to your new year’s resolution to get fit. Whether you want an overseas va- cation or choose to stay put — don’t moan about the lack of great beaches we have here in Singapore.
You’d be surprised at some of the gorgeous coastlines we have. At hotels.com (https://sg.hotels.com/go/singapore/singapore-beaches) they have identified seven great beaches in Singapore and they are Siloso Beach, Tanjong Beach, Changi Beach, Palawan Beach, Punggol Beach, St. John’s Island and Lazarus Island.
All you need is a cocktail, sunblock, hat and these Hermès must-haves — and you are beach-ready.

Beach towel in cotton terry cloth
Thalassa, goddess of the sea in Greek mythology, is the inspiration behind this tangle of barques and boats created in 1973 by illustrator Pierre Péron. Today, the design is reissued, flat-frame printed on a beach mat in cotton canvas and hand-embroidered on a beach bag.
The motifs decorating this beach towel are made according to the traditional “tie and dye” technique: White fabric is knotted then dipped in a colour bath. Once untied, it shows large uneven circles.

The luminous colours of this seaside bike ride by illustrator Quentin Monge conjure the beaches of Saint- Tropez and the warm sun in the south of France which marked his childhood.

Inspired by the famed jewel created by Hermès CEO Robert Dumas in 1938, this design by Matthieu Cossé shows a “Chaîne d’ancre” bracelet set on the sand.

Japanese illustrator Daiske Nomura drew inspiration from a 19th-century ice lolly mould in the Émile Hermès collection to design this unexpected ice lolly in the form of a rearing horse, slowly melting under the summer sun.

Joyful and playful, this line of beach objects for children is decorated with vibrant colours and marine life from the “Under the Waves” designed by illustrator Alice Shirley in a tribute to the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia.
