CRUISE
Sunset and sail dinner cruise
Royal Albatross

Take your other half for a scenic dinner cruise along Singapore’s calm port waters and enjoy 360° sea and sunset views onboard the Royal Albatross — the region’s only luxury tall ship stationed at Resorts World Sentosa.

As you disembark just before sunset, the crew busy themselves rigging the masts to set sail using the same methods and techniques from a bygone era. Once all 22 sails are up in full glory, the ship reminds us of Pirates of the Caribbean, only that Jack Sparrow is a middle-aged Caucasian man in a sailor’s uniform.

At $195 per person, you get a 2.5 hour leisurely trip complete with a welcome mocktail, three-course European dinner at your own private table on the upper deck (add $100 for a six-course dinner with wine pairing) and free flow soft drinks.

PLAY
She likes boys who like boys
Faghag

If you’re in the mood for some campy tunes and musings about the pinker sex, catch Pam Oei in this pride-loving one-woman musical about the thespian’s affinity toward gay men. A semi-autobiographical show written by her and directed by the incomparable Ivan Heng, Oei will tell you why she deserves the title of Singapore’s No. 1 fag hag as she plays multiple characters, tells jokes, shares heartwarming tales, and throws in a few torch songs accompanied by pianist Julian Wong.

Faghag, first released in 2018 during Wild Rice’s Singapore Theatre Festival, is back by popular demand from now till July 25 at The Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre at Wild Rice, Funan. Do note that complimentary swab tests may be conducted on-site on top of standard safety measures.

Tickets start from $40 and can be purchased from Wild Rice or Sistic. For more information, email ticketing@wildrice.com.sg

Lady M Champagne Bar

Purveyors of Lady M’s world-famous Mille Crêpes can look forward to more decadent dessert dining with the opening of the café’s sixth and newest outlet at ION Orchard, featuring a first-of-its-kind champagne bar.

With two seating zones and an entryway display for takeaways, diners can choose between sitting along a curved horseshoe bar counter where champagne is poured and cakes are cut in plain view, or a dedicated dining area of marble top tables to unwind with friends over cakes and pours.

The menu features a diverse array of sweet treats such as the delicious Champagne Mille Crêpes, including mouth-watering savoury dishes such as Chilled Caviar Angel Hair ($40) and Creamy Lobster Fettuccine ($32).

From July 17, diners will also get to experience a new weekend afternoon tea programme ($60 per person) filled with artfully tiered bites, signature pastries, a pot of artisanal tea and a glass of champagne for much-needed pampering.

EXHIBITION
The life and art of Leonardo Da Vinci
Da Vinci, The Exhibition

Get to know the Renaissance Man himself through the largest collection of Leonardo da Vinci’s discoveries in Southeast Asia. This fully interactive, hands-on exhibition at Science Centre Singapore invites you to closely examine the life, art and research of this genius Italian polymath who was a world-famous painter, draughtsman, engineer, scientist, theorist, sculptor and architect.

The showcase will send visitors of all ages on a truly exciting and inspiring journey of art, science and nature across 10 zones featuring more than 50 fully built, life-size inventions and over 15 fine art studies and dozens of stunning displays. They include iconic paintings such as Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, plus Da Vinci’s famous studies on the Golden Ratio and Vitruvian Man.

The exhibits were put up by trained artisans who used Da Vinci’s blueprints to design and construct his inventions, bringing to life many machines and devices — such as the parachute and scuba suit — that were designed but never created due to the lack of modern technologies in the 15th Century.

Now on till Jan 2, 2022. Tickets are priced at $18 per adult from www.science.edu.sg/whats-on/exhibitions/davinci
